The Recycling Unit

The South Waikato Achievement Trust has held the South Waikato District Council’s kerbside pick up recycling contract for 14 years. The recyclable products include paper, cardboard, plastics, bottle and cans. These are sorted at the 12 Thompson Street site, baled and despatched to export destinations.

There are twenty eight staff and employees who work up to six days a week and process up to 2,500 tonnes of recyclables per annum.

The recycled products are sourced from the residential kerbside pick up but also from commercial premises throughout the South Waikato region.
